STUDENT PREPARATION ASSOCIATION (SPA)
We are excited to introduce a new division of The HOTL:

S - Student 
P - Preparation 
A - Association. 

SPA

Our primary objective is to assist student members, as well as the outside community with the necessary tools to aide in their success throughout the school year.  We are dedicated to helping children in need.

SPA was founded by Lorraine Rogers Jackson, and First Lady Grace Rogers in an effort to provide assistance to parents in our communities in need of backpacks and supplies for kids K-12. The program will also offer college scholarships and academic achievement awards to our attending student members, and to supply care packages to the student members of our organization who are currently attending college.

SPA currently has 2 working goals for 2017

Goal # 1: 
Donate 200 or more backpacks and supplies to children in need in our community. At 4pm- 6pm On August 20th at 5530 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, MD 20747 we will donate backpacks and supplies to hundreds of kids in need. to make a donation please contact us using the contact link on this page. All donations should be received by August 11, 2017.

Goal # 2:
Send out quarterly care packages to college students. To receive these packages you or your parent must be a member of The HOTL North or South. These care packages will be sent 3 times a year: At the beginning of each school year, after winter break, and after spring break. 

All recipients of the care packages must fill out a profile application and send it back no later then June 15 of each preceding school year. Profile applications can be requested by clicking on the contact us link on this page or by emailing us at thehouseofthelord1@gmail.com. Please include "SPA APPLICATION" in the subject line. Upon completion of an application you will become a student member of SPA

As we grow we will add several other services to SPA such as free Saturday tutoring, College scholarships, and Summer vocational school.

Vice President: First Lady Grace Rogers
Chief Financial Officer: Dorian Jackson
Lorraine Rogers Jackson is the daughter of Pastor Bishop Rogers. She is best known for being a gifted poet and published author. Her creativity will be a welcomed addition to taking SPA into the future.

As the CEO of SPA her responsibilities include determining the strategic direction of the program, and implementing long and short term plans. 

She will also serve as a liaison between the Board of Management of the Program, and The HOTL Board of Directors. 
Grace Rogers has a heart to give back. We are so excited to have her as a part of SPA.

Grace has carried out a Career in management for over 20 years. Her experience will add the necessary guidance and leadership needed to make this program a success. 

As Vice President she will be in charge of carrying out the strategic plans by overseeing projects, developing functional roles, and assigning responsibilities to staff. 
Dorian Jackson serves as a Regional Marketing Manager in his career at HCR, located in Vienna, Va. In his career Dorian has worked with the budgeting of projects and is experienced in the management of funds. Not to mention he currently has 1 child in college, and another headed in the Fall which gives him great insight into the need for this program. 

As CFO he will be responsible for financial planning, record keeping, fund disbursement, as well as financial reporting to the CEO, and VP, as well as the HOTL treasury.

Donation Coordinator position available 

We are looking to fill 2 positions of Donation coordinator in our North and South Locations.​
The responsibilities will include assisting in the organization of SPA fund raisers, organizing the distribution of all donations to be disbursed, creating, updating, and maintaining the profile for each Spa student member, and working with both the CFO and VP in project planning and execution.  

The persons who apply for this position should be detail oriented, organized, have computer, email, and excel knowledge, clear communication skills, time management skills, attentiveness, and a desire to help others. '
